Before
For Spaas to visualize their data, they had to manually extract data from SAP and import it into Excel on a monthly basis. This process required labor-intensive manual transformations, taking up significant time and resources. As a result, the generated reports were slow-moving and inflexible, providing little room for customization. Furthermore, the manual nature of these tasks frequently resulted in errors.

The journey
We began by conducting a thorough analysis of the existing reports and underlying data, which we then structured into a star schema. This schema serves as a flexible foundation upon which to build our reporting framework. Following our analysis, we established a pipeline via ADF (Azure Data Factory) for nightly ingestion of data from SAP into our data warehouse. Once this data was curated and validated, we initiated the construction of Power BI dashboards and reports. Throughout this process, we prioritized listening to our clients’ specific objectives, ensuring that the reports delivered precisely the insights necessary for the company’s growth.
